Searching “Gary glitter” on Apple Maps shows all public restrooms (maps.apple.com)

HN autocorrected maps.apple.com to maps.google.com. Annoying.

I manually edited the URL back to apple, which (on a Mac) opens the Maps app.

Interestingly, the change comes from from Apple. `curl -v https://maps.apple.com/?q=Gary+Glitter` gives a redirect to maps.google.com. Presumably they do this when the don't recognize the browser as capable of starting the Maps app.

That's a very interesting choice on their part. I wonder if there's any co-ordination with google on this.

duckduckgo uses apple maps for its map system, if anyone stuck with a redirect wants to see this; https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Garry+Glitter&iaxm=maps

I wonder if Google pays Apple to do this too?

Rhyming slang?

"Oi Siri me old dahling', show us the nearest Gary Glitta' will ya?"

Could work ..?

Well, traditionally the Gary slang usage is used to as a synonym for the orifice through which one performs a vital bodily function, but the word it rhymes with it can also indicate the venue for such[0].

I sense you have more trouble with Siri than I do with Alexa.

Although I'm from Yorkshire so it's more

Alright love, where's t'nearest Gareh glitteh

(Although obviously I'd ask where the nearest pub was. as that would have a toilet, and something to fill my bladder up again.)
