Myself started from counting to 100 on breathing, then advanced to silence. Guided meditation is quite different, from my experiences. Not the op.

Using “green” pass does contradict with EU resolution 2361/2021 which states:

“ 7.5.2 use vaccination certificates only for their designated purpose of monitoring vaccine efficacy, potential side effects and adverse events;”

Allowing people to visit pubs or other social places is the right — whether someone concerned of getting sick it is up to them to get a vaccine; those who are not in for the experiment (most of covid vaccines are in experimental state up to year 2023) shall not suffer the artificial social limitation barriers.

Masking the background and making text black would solve this. I have used OpenCV for that before.

OCRmyPDF does that. Given the name I assume it's only for PDFs given the name, but theoretically it should work for any image without the need to extract it from the PDF.

I may disagree, as from my own experience and lucid dreamers I spoke to, lucid dream is not a rest state but more of the awake. After lucid dreaming I am as tired as I did not sleep at all, maybe even more.

I'm pretty sure there's distinction between lucid dreaming during REM sleep and something akin to day dreaming while falling in and out of sleep, which some might still call lucid dreaming. I've experienced both. In the latter you won't feel refreshed in the same way (or at all), similar to when stress or alcohol prevents restful sleep. (Stress or alcohol very well may have setup the conditions for the non-REM dreaming.) In the former you feel the same as you normally would.

Whether in REM or not, I feel less rested the more I lucid dream.

a little bit different, nice concept anyway https://noderunners.io/

It is possible to use plain TeX when using pandoc inside markdown documents.

Thanks, solid tip.

I have observed my wife writing her PhD in M$ word, and indeed when editing either pictures or references the whole pages would shift, requiring post editing all subsequent sections. When I was writing mine I used markdown with pandoc to compile to either LaTex or pdf. When we compared our processes we approached the ground that text rendering shall be done separately exactly for the reasons of editing, as well as reference handling. Unfortunately, when she started she wasn’t exposed to those methods, nor by university; and the steep learning curve did not allow to switch in time. Those addressed points will much likely make the experience of writing on scientific topics much more pleasurable and efficient.

I wrote my master thesis with this combo, but wrestling with images positions made me turn back to pure Latex.

Make sure to dry it completely, and the insides too. My friend spilled coffee on a macbook air and it was fine for a month and then died. All the internals were rusted. Coffee is different from soda, but still, take care.

To be watched with your loved ones: What Dreams May Come; Ameli

Those which make you question our society (not mentioned so far): The Platform; Snowpiercer

Others: OtherLife; The Origin; The Wave (it would have bigger impact if I watched it earlier in my life)

I find your opinion very subjective. In my experience, I remember that in 2013-2014 when i switched from MBA to retina MBP i experienced the wow effect. But recently MBP fall off and screen got broken. Now using 720p 20” monitor and have not noticed significant difference. Mostly programming, as in reading and writing text, be it in text editor or shell. It is as good as before. Less screen estate, right, it does not affect my workflow much.
