Seriously, I've stopped checking all these 'official' status pages and just check Twitter or HN for an accurate status.

I think for big corporations that the flip doesn’t switch on the status page until it is approved by legal and they get a “comms” message prepared. It isn’t as automatic as we’d like to think.

I mean, social media is pretty much an inevitability once mobile phones/internet became mainstream. Just like the invention of the gun and gunpowder, I think we are still debating if it was good for society right to this day.

One example that came to mind was Apollo app where their users came to bat for them during that whole third-party apps fiasco.

This 100%. But the only time where I do have the courage to step out of that comfort zone is when I have that don't-give-a-shit attitude usually triggered by a specific life situation for e.g divorce made me not give a shit about being self-conscious about going to the gym or I'm pretty bad at asking people for help but had to approach someone at immigration to get help with my passport in front of everyone there.

I wish it comes easy like with the people I know for e.g no worries or issues at all with questioning a contractor regarding the price of remodelling a kitchen, sending back dishes due to some quality issues..etc
