Definitely agree on the virtue of doing stuff as manually as possible. Really hard though mentally as you always want to do things the right way. I guess at such an early stage though, the right way is whatever gets you feedback quickest.
Amazon is great for getting a pricing point of comparison - can't argue with that. In fact Amazon is great if you know exactly what you want to be / for finding the best price. I'd argue it's not the best place to find what you want.

Im not sure I understand your argument: are you saying that amazon mobile suffers from item availability and/or discoverability?
For example, if I know I want a new iPod dock - sorting through all of the potential products and processing all of the information associated through each one is a lot of work. Amazon doesn't do a great job of making this process simpler.
Availability is also an issue with clothing in particular.
Rocker boxes used to be used by gold miners to separate gold from sand / gravel. We're trying to do the same for products - helping you find the "golden" product that is best for you.
Exactly. We're trying to actually learn what you'll like and showing you only those products. Not just a "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought..."
Nope. You swipe through products, liking or disliking each one. We learn what sort of things you like and guide you to the right ones. We want to help you browse for products.
I'm starting to think that posting this at 11:45 may not have been the best way to go about this. That isn't meant to diminish the feedback that I've goten - just a realization that more people may be on the site during the day and the time component of my posts ranking will go down before others have a chance to vote on it.
Idea : Build script that determines best performing hackernews posts by time of day and day of week.
Thanks for the feedback. Favicon and title have been added.
- What sort of contact info are you thinking of? I was thinking of adding tag support (and filtering) but I assume you mean more like phone # / email?
- Facebook/gmail integration is next on my to-dos. Really depends on how much traction I get with this version.
- I like your timezone ideas. In general, I think my frequency selection is lacking.
