I read this after patio11 linked to it. It's an amazing resource, thank you!

@emdowling - your comments aren't showing up here - maybe because your account is new? The service looks awesome btw!

http://pcod.es - share, track and promote iOS promo codes (could easily be expanded to share promo codes for anything in a controlled way). Ruby on Rails.

Domain only: pushp.in - I have an offer for this so you'd need to be quick.

I've considered that, but the last time I tried you couldn't use the words iPhone or iPad in a Google Ad. Has that restriction gone away, or how do you work around it?

You can use those terms if you get permission from Apple. I can't remember the email address offhand, but there is one you can contact for approval.

wouldn't iOS be a better term anyway?

Highly depends on the market. If you're aimed at tech geeks, maybe, but I'd guess that your average iPhone/iPad user doesn't really know what iOS is unless they've jailbroken.

"Last week I came back to this idea and realized that there are good alternatives available, it should not be treated a reason to stop."

- Awesome, I'm glad you decided to go ahead with this. This is a crowded space but you've been able to make a useful tool with features other sites don't have. Congrats!

You're right: this is a British English construct and presumably allowed by the BBC style guide.

I tried this out earlier, just before you sent the beta email out. A few thoughts:

1. Keyboard shortcuts! I really wanted to deselect items by hitting escape but it didn't work. I kept trying anyway because I'm so used to Balsamiq :) I'd also love to be able to hit / to quick-search the list of elements I can add, then return to add the selected item. Again, Balsamiq really nails this.

2. I wanted to add a div with Bootstrap's pull-right class, but couldn't figure out how. Some means to add custom elements with custom css classes, even in a limited way, would really help me.

3. I typed some text (directly into a grid .row) but it didn't show up in the CSS+HTML tab. Not sure if this was a bug or not.

I really want this to work and it would save our team loads of time (meaning, we would pay for it :). Looking forward to what you do next.

Quick update: just added escape. Thanks for the feedback!

I didn't think of escape, that would be great.

Thanks for the feedback, all great ideas!

Sounds good! I've filled in my details on the form.

If you're a hacker in need of a Mac/iOS todo list, I couldn't recommend TaskPaper (http://www.hogbaysoftware.com/products/taskpaper/) enough. It's a hybrid outliner and todo list, but scales from simple lists to multi-project, tagged lists with loads of notes and documentation.

Best of all, the file format is plain text, so you can keep it in source control, edit it in Vim (there's even a vim plugin - https://github.com/davidoc/taskpaper.vim), or whatever you want.

I bought TaskPaper both for iOS and Mac and I've been very disappointed.

At first, it looks great but the Dropbox sync'ing is completely broken. I was losing data many times a day and ended up giving up on it. Many have reported sync'ing issues on their forum as well. That's too bad because I really liked it otherwise.

Sounds like org-mode, except it is free and open source with tons of great add-ons. MobileOrg for iOS which is also open source.

What greatly inconvenienced me about MobileOrg was having to manually push and retrieve changes from the app, which led me to the occasional "but I'm sure I've captured this!" moment. Call me stupid, or even inconsistent for hoping something a little more brainless (it's an emacs mode I'm trying to sync with, after all), but eventually it put me off from adopting it in full.

Yeah, that is definitely a pain point with it. I have a list of things I would like to change, but it is pretty low on my list. Also the code isn't exactly how I would've built the app, so it is a little discouraging to work on in my free time.

As a org-mode user I've been using TaskPaper quite a lot (before getting back to org.) It's very good on its own, but org-mode is way more powerful

Watching the video, I was struck by how slowly and carefully everyone was writing. I guess I might do that if I someone was filming my handwriting, but if it's to compensate for the speed of the sensor it's a problem.

Competing with paper and a pen is hard enough, but if you can't scribble fast it might be a dealbreaker.

It might have more to do with the lack of friction from the medium.

We're all trained to write by putting some minimal, but constant effort to move the stylus (pencil, ballpen) against the paper surface. Here, it's just a piece plastic sliding on a glass surface. You have to make a different kind of effort in controlling the stylus, when it moves too easily and has to be stopped or redirected at the right moment. (Learning to ice skate might be a good analogue.)
