I have 2.

Beautiful picture but it's 28hz @ 4k. This causes a "lag" between the mouse and cursor that is completely unbearable for me (not a gamer, I'm talking just web browsing / email / coding), and I've pretty much stopped hooking them up. Try adjusting your display settings to sub-30hz to see what it feels like.

To be fair that is a limitation of HDMI 1.4. You'd have the same problem if you bought the ASUS PQ321Q and connected it with HDMI.

Personally, I'd never buy an HDMI anything...DisplayPort is the current standard and the future of displays.

Is there a website that will sell a single printable stamp online? I send maybe 2 letters a year, and would gladly pay something ridiculous like 500% markup when I can't find a stamp.

You can curl those with EasyPost! https://geteasypost.com/docs

Nice! Have you thought of putting "NO MONTHLY FEE" somewhere on the homepage? I missed that part, and pretty much just assumed it because of the other services.

I'm probably not going to figure out the api to print a stamp though. Is a non-api + non-signup version in the works? That's what I'd really want next time I need a stamp.

Oooh good call!

Yes, that's in the works.

But for now you can still use it! Just copy this curl command: https://geteasypost.com/docs#postage-buying Then, replace the To, From, Weight, etc with your own info, paste into iTerm or whatever you use. Once you get a piece back that's right (with that test API key), use your secret API key and buy it for real.

I'll even load your account with $5 to get started. Email me at j at easypost dot co (same to anyone else reading and interested) :)

Was the $200 spent on Vimeo Pro? This is why I didn't host mine on Vimeo.

https://vimeo.com/help/guidelines

Businesses may not use basic Vimeo or Vimeo Plus accounts to host their videos. Businesses may, however, use a Vimeo PRO account to host their videos so long as they comply with the Vimeo PRO guidelines.

No - That should be called out as optional.

But the commenters here have added information on creating a better youtube experience.

Where are you seeing it's optional? Do you mean it's just not enforced?

https://vimeo.com/help/faq/pro

Vimeo Plus is intended for individuals who want more features than a Basic (free) account, however Vimeo Plus users may not upload videos that are commercial in nature, or that are intended to sell or promote a product or service.

Optional for the post content. You can produce the content and have it hosted on Youtube for well under the $200... which was the point of the tip.

Yes, in our case, we also pay Vimeo for video hosting so we can further customize the experience.

Commercial use is ok if you're a pro user or "You are a small-scale independent production company, non-profit, or artist, in which case you may use the Vimeo Service to showcase or promote your own creative works."

I'm not sure, but "independent production company" might refer to stage production.

Isn't it easy enough to just delete columns you don't need after importing one of the public sources?

...or just leave the data in. Having a few extra columns on a 250 row table isn't going to hurt anything.

But that adds an extra step for the developer, plus this could possibly be bundled in to an installation script.

The service is not for me, but just wanted to say it's a beautifully executed responsive homepage.

Great suggestion

What benefit could a 3rd party conceivably get out of faking clicks on Facebook ads? Is there a rev share at all with publishers, like with adsense?

Driving up costs for competitors?

Tons! Charge their competitors to run out of budget and/or give up advertising on FB.

A lot of people also have bots to see who/what is advertising on FB to see what is working, what ad text people are trying, etc. Mostly aff marketers trying to stay ahead of the game. There are also SaaS companies scraping ads and landing pages and selling that data.

I'm sure there are other reasons as well...
