I am Siddharth, and I am looking for full time opportunity for Software Engineer Role.
I want to share not just my past achievements but also what I’ve been working on recently as a Software Engineer at Atlan. Right from my first weekend, I jumped in, handling support tickets and quickly becoming a top performer in multiple support cycles. I showed I could meet tight deadlines by creating the company’s first 10-day connector in just 9 days. I also played a key role in speeding up our Snowflake & PowerBI workflows, cutting the runtime by 96%, which made a huge difference in our system’s efficiency.
One of my big wins was improving system observability. I used Stackdriver, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and Elasticsearch to enhance monitoring and alert handling, which really boosted customer satisfaction. I also optimized our data pipeline performance, achieving a 96% reduction in Snowflake & PowerBI workflow runtimes and improving Argo data pipeline orchestration, increasing SLA from 92% to 97% and cutting disruptions by 99%.
Additionally, I led the migration of Snowflake and BigQuery Miners from Spark-based Delta Lake to DuckDB’s native parquet format, slashing workflow runtime by 80% and resolving critical Out of Memory issues. I'm also building an innovative offline agent for Argo workflows, enabling standalone deployments in Docker-in-Docker environments and on-premises Kubernetes clusters.
Open Source Achievements
- Last summer, I was thrilled to be selected for Google Summer of Code 2023 at GitLab for the second consecutive year. My GSoC project focused on enhancing GitLab's Merge Request comparisons using git range-diff, making code reviews more effective and validating changes during rebasing. You can check out the project here: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2023/projects/Z...
- Additionally, I was a mentee in The Linux Foundation's LFX Mentorship Spring 2023 Program, where I contributed to the Cortex Project by implementing an API to simplify data migration from Prometheus to Cortex. Details of the project can be found here: https://mentorship.lfx.linuxfoundation.org/project/184ccb3e-...
Now, am I applying?
With my extensive full-time experience and OSS contributions to both system internals and web development, I have a clear understanding of what goes behind the scene in a system. I am confident that I will be able to contribute significantly towards the growth of your company.
This summer, I am thrilled to be selected as a Google Summer of Code 2023 Student Developer at GitLab for the second consecutive year. My GSoC project aims to enhance GitLab's merge request comparisons using git range-diff, enabling effective code reviews and verifying changes during rebasing.

Recently, I have been selected as a mentee for The Linux Foundation's LFX Mentorship Spring 2023 Program, to work on the Cortex Project. I am working on implementing an API in Cortex for importing old Prometheus TSDB block data to simplify the migration of data from Prometheus to Cortex.
Last summer, I worked as a Google Summer of Code 2022 Student Developer at GitLab, a DevOps platform. I worked with the Gitaly team, which is a Git RPC service which is responsible for handling git calls made by GitLab. My tasks were to integrate the mailmap feature in GitLab. Apart from that, I also worked on GitLab's contributor graph feature to use git-shortlog which will improve the performance of the graph.
I have been actively contributing to other OSS projects like Zulip which is a real-time team chat system and Git, a distributed version control system. At IVY, I have written functions and tests for the ML transpiler and deep learning framework. In the process, I learned not only about how web platforms work, but also have some knowledge of how low level systems like kernel work.

I am excited to share my latest blog post on my experience as a GitLab Hero in the Developer Director Shadow Program!
During this program, I had the opportunity to shadow Wayne Haber, Director of Engineering at GitLab, and see how a day in a life of an Engineering Director goes at GitLab.
