Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.
Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.
Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)
Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.
While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.
I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.
I am willing to consider a volunteer position if a visa can be arranged.
I'm a student, and am looking for a good internship experience in the first half of 2024. I am currently a Google Summer of Code contributor at the Tor Project, and have contributed to Arti, the Rust rewrite of Tor in C, working beside the Arti devs.
I'm particularly interested in open source, computer networking and associated software.
A while back I hacked around and built a peer to peer file transfer program to learn Rust, including the file transfer protocol too (you can check it out on https://github.com/gotlougit/p2p-file-transfer or on https://git.sr.ht/~gotlou/p2p-file-transfer). I did this mostly being inspired by Tailscale and also out of frustration of how getting uncompressed photos from friends was a mess.
I love learning new things and am a fast learner. Recently I migrated to NixOS, and quickly ended up configuring a tmpfs rootfs so I could manage the state of my system better.

My name is Damian and I'm junior web developer with no prior commercial experience. I've been learning programming for almost half year now, after transitioning form architectural industry. My preference is full-stack job but I'm happy with doing back-end only too. You can check out my portfolio projects either on my GitHub or LinkedIn page. Here are the deployed projects of mine:
I'm an engineer with many years of experience in Silicon Valley, working in management roles, engineering, and consulting. My expertise is mostly in back end systems, working in the modern Go/Docker/Kubernetes ecosystem. In addition to working directly on large and complex code projects I also managed and grew engineering teams at various companies.
If you need help with specific technical projects, or are looking for management roles please feel free to reach out. I'm very familiar with both the unique challenges of scaling up startups as well as working to innovate in large enterprise companies.
Specifically if you need help productizing and scaling out various AI/Machine Learning/LLM systems this would be a good fit. I know there is quite a bit of demand in this area and a limited supply of qualified candidates.
Hey, my name is Chris and I'd like to be hired as a fullstack dev ideally for Elixir + React but I don't mind LiveView of any js framework. I have 3 years of professional experience and I feel quite flexible with technologies. I've been working mostly with Elixir, React, Typescript, Postgres and Elasticsearch. I'd prefer full stack but I'm also open for open for just backend jobs. I've been working with real time projects, health-tech, business, or just on frontend side that required a lot of data to be displayed in a custom way.
I am a software developer currently working in the telco industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects, but I am mostly interested in systems programming roles.

I'm an ideal DevOps, SRE, DPO, or compliance engineer, with a focus on automation to close the cloud-developer feedback loop for release reliability, compliance, security, and cost management. I know how the CI/CD system's deployment buttons work, and can add value to them. I build pipelines like a regular SWE uses if statements. I'm paranoid about security.
My background is unusual because I started as an embedded engineer, had network and system administration duties added, and finally learned how to do security by winning awards at some high visibility contests. There are lots of stories of me troubleshooting weird cloud problems across unrelated layers, because I've built every part of a product stack in my career, hardware and software.
I've been doing DevOps since way before anyone called it that.
I am a full-stack dev and tech lead with focus on PERN/MERN stack and over 10 years of experience delivering software. I have a strong background as a software architect and have successfully led teams as a fractional CTO. I have worked with clients from diverse industries worldwide. I have successfully delivered over 20 projects for a range of clients, including solo founders, early stage startups, growing startups, digital agencies, and notable companies like Apple and Binance.
I've been working at the Bay Area since 2015, most recently at Pinterest. At work, I've done big data pipelines, designed some batch job systems, computing metrics, handling billing APIs, lots of Python, Go and Java and working with AWS, i.e. backend and data engineer stuff. I've been coding since I was less than 10 years old so I am quite strong in churning out code.
But I'm trying to look for work that's more in line with what I do on my free time: Challenging low-level C or Rust programming, machine learning implementations (see e.g. this LLaMA language model thing I made https://github.com/Noeda/rllama/, graphics programming or research-type work, uncommon programming languages.

I'm Jan!
I'm currently a Research Engineer for a phage therapy clinical trial in Sydney, but originally from the US. Moved here to partner with trial because our phage community startup was able to treat a patient here through crowdsourcing phages.
I'm a self-taught full-stack engineer and product/UX designer with UX research experience. I've been working on our startup for several years, leading to many successes in treatment.
Currently looking for opportunities in other fields (especially related to health, biotech, hard data and UX problems, and using LLMs to potentially solve these problems). Reason for looking is because the phage therapy field and market is very very small, and growing at a slow rate. I'll always have a burning passion for using my design and dev skills to build systems to treat patients, but there's little to no money in the field.
I love building complex interfaces and data systems for those really tough problems.
I have been the Head of Data Science at a startup and am currently run data science at a large corporation. My work spans academia and industry. I am experienced as both an IC and a leader in the Data Science/Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence space. I work on big data problems, forecasting and predictive analytics and simulation.
I have a PhD in Computer Science and Civil Engineering. I have a strong interest in simulation (real time and physics simulations) and was for a time a Research Fellow in a top-level mathematics department where I worked on Bayesian probability.
Some of my work is visible on my website, www.dkgrdatasystems.com.
While I am very interested and experienced in R&D I also work on production systems. I have extensive experience in both SaaS and hardware products.

ML researcher/engineer looking to work on interesting and novel applications of ML. I have previous experience working as a Data Scientist at a NYC hedge fund and am familiar with the full data stack - acquiring, cleaning, analyzing, modeling and putting into production. I've just finished my Masters at the University of Cambridge, focused on ML and computational statistics. During my time there I published a paper: https://openreview.net/forum?id=cFtt9fU7YB6, and worked on a 9 month research project on probabilistic models for Riemannian manifolds for my thesis. I'm a quick learner, but am used to operating in fast-paced, pragmatic environments and getting results. I enjoy working on interesting open-ended problems in pretty much any setting!
Hello! I am a software engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, more than 10 years of experience and 10 professional certifications earned after a lot of study and hard work.
You can see several technologies in the above list but I personally prefer to work with anything related to the Rust Programming Language. Backend? Blockchain? Compilers? DevOps? Embedded? Mobile? I am totally onboard as long as you have a little bit of Rust involved.
I have a PhD in operations research---essentially, I solve optimization problems. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or other methods. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work (I'm also open to contract work).
I'm currently working on a column generation-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of the user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I'm aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.
Hello! I'm Chelsea Saunders, a full stack software engineer based in Bellingham, Washington with years of experience in JavaScript/Node.js, Typescript, Ruby, React, and PostgreSQL. Marketing, Technical Marketing, and Product Marketing Roles
Location: United States
Remote: Yes (Also willing to travel to you for extended periods of on-site work during launches and important promos)
Willing to relocate: Yes

Who Am I?
20 year marketing veteran with technical background and experience in product, product marketing, and growth.
Began my career as a software developer in a startup in a semiconductor-related software field. Moved into a hybrid product/product marketing role. Worked alongside our B2B sales and marketing team in a cross-functional role, and collaborated with our global engineering teams and partners for global B2B marketing and sales activities.
Now I'm interested in finding a new growth or marketing role in tech. I'm open to a variety of industries.
If you are hiring, the roles I fill are similar to those “in-between” roles that fall into two categories:
(a)Engineering teams with expertise and need a technical marketing person to help translate their expertise into sales/marketing content
(b)A MarCom team who knows branding and content, but needs some assistance translating marketing speak into technical audiences
Frontend engineer recently laid off from JLL which I came to through the acquisition and closure of Envio Systems where I worked on their commercial building analytics dashboard aimed at reducing energy consumption across large commercial real-estate portfolios. RIP. Most of my work there involved migration of the complex legacy Angular 1.x codebase into a react/typescript/redux component library, including previously written tests and other heavily angular-dependent frontend bits such as angular-resource. I'm currently working on a mac app in Swift and SwiftUI, as well as looking for a new position in no particular industry, ideally on a small team where I can either continue as an individual contributor or something slightly higher-level. I enjoy iterative processes, lean development lifecycles, learning new codebases, and experimenting with tools that help with developer productivity such as Vite.
Location: Vancouver, Canada
Remote: Yes please, but am somewhat flexible regarding intermittent travel
Willing to Relocate: After a year for the right company and location, it's possible but unlikely
Technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Node (largely in-support of frontend build tooling), Angular.js 1.x (ideally only in terms of migrating to something else), Golang (minimal, mostly experimental), Swift/SwiftUI for macOS, GitHub/Jira, Docker, Python (Bit of Django, Flask, etc.. not expert)
I have figured out a way of doing machine learning right. Turns out that all popular architectures are just instances of a more general approach. Infinite transformer window is possible. Attention is just a particular case of Hopf convolution. Verification is possible. Faster training, faster inference. Possibly interpretability. But it goes beyond transformers.
The machine learning process is analogous to renormalization from QFT which in retrospect makes sense.

I'm an engineer with 3.5 years of experience in DevOps and infra. I am passionate about making software run fast and streamlining development processes.
I have just finished my CS master's thesis in Performance Engineering on the interface between virtual machines and NVMes, focusing on userspace drivers (SPDK<->vfio). I've gained familiarity with the Linux NVMe driver, io_uring, and latency measurement for complex software systems (à la Richard Sites' Software Dynamics).
I'm looking for a generalist role with heavy emphasis on performance engineering, system optimization, or legacy refactoring; but open to pure DevOps and infra positions with perceivable effects on the company's main business operation.
I tend to go deep into multiple topics. I especially enjoy making correct software and optimizing it. Thus, Cython, formal methods and Rust.
After implementing cryptographic primitives in low level C with SIMD, I went for a PhD to really understand cryptography. You can find a summary here: https://research.wmz.ninja/projects/phd/index.html (not by me).
I have spent too much time implementing and optimizing a Keplerian orbit simulator after playing Kerbal Space Program, I wrote multiple software project to help me learn Japanese, and I am now trying to improve Morse learning (WIP).
- Business impact: I'd still love to change the world and save lives but I'll be content enough if our work is client-facing, and directly makes clients' lives / jobs easier.
- Corporate structure: a result-driven company that welcomes innovation.
- Technical mindset: no top-down but bottom-up tech design. Client-oriented design. Revenue-oriented, it should matter from day 0. No abstraction is better than bad abstraction. Let free patterns emerge from organic growth.
- Technical landscape: data-intensive systems that can be relied upon, with strong business-relevant needs for performance, reliability, durability, and resilience.
- Team dynamics: engineers have and share areas of responsibility. No echo chamber or ivory-tower architect. We should all be collectively accountable for systems architecture.

I'm looking for a position that will allow me to use more of my technical knowledge and grow beyond personal projects and FOSS contributing. I'm fast-learning, thorough and have solid soft-skills. In code I value simplicity, efficiency and documentation. Besides being into programming since I first laid my hands on a PC, I have years of professional experience as sound engineer and graphic designer under my belt. Standing between the worlds of technology and humanities, I'm perfect to bridge the gap.
As my latest occupations aren't formally technical, I have realistic expectations regarding my potential role.
I am Senior QA Automation Engineer (Manual and Automation) with 12+ years of experience in Software Testing in Agile environment and has hands-on experience in all stages of software testing life cycle.
I am seeking work as QA ENGINEER for part-time or full-time contract work, preferably on a long-term basis, but I'm also available for smaller projects.
Side Projects: Too many. Check the pins on my GH profile for a selection.
Résumé/CV: Available on request.

Hi there. I'm a computer graphics technologist with 30+ years of professional experience. I try to mostly find Rust R&D gigs lately (last three years). I also get booked to fill architect, PO or agile coach roles. If I was looking for a full time role (which I am not!) it would be a CTO position.
I'm good with everything around teams and software. I have extensive experience leading people, communicating vision, ideation, design, and everything pertaining to software as a product. I am also professional level CG artist. I have been working in technical VFX production for 15 years, then in software dev for VFX for five, then as a manager in geospatial mapping/map rendering sector for another five years. I've been consulting/freelancing after, since 2020.

About me: Spent 2 years at Oracle working on the PL/SQL comipler team, this included: requirements gathering with end-users for new language features / types, design, and implementation. Networking code for client-server and sharded models. Prototype of ML model to detect transactions with high risk of bugs.
I have spent the past 2 years in academia (Brown University) and I'm looking to transition to an industry position. My research has been focused on data simulation (for theoretical model validation and data augmentation), and novel deep learning methods for classification, segmentation, and generative tasks.
I'm looking for very technically-involved roles, ideally working on backend development, systems programming, data engineering, or machine learning.
I am a software engineer with 15+ years of experience, I have developed mobile banking applications for multiple local banks. Specifically, I led the development of Bank of Georgia's mobile banking applications, which has over a million active users.
I am skilled in developing back-end applications using Go, Java, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. I have successfully developed and launched self-service payment terminal software, which is currently operational on more than 3,000 terminals. I have experience in all stages of product development, from ideation to production launch, monitoring, and maintenance.
Technologies: Embedded systems, automotive, machine learning, signal processing, data science, real time computing, safety processes (MISRA, ISO26262, etc), MATLAB, FPGA.
Background: Masters in control theory and signal processing, working in the auto industry for the last 7 years, first on low level powertrain software then the last year or so on LIDAR/computer vision for autonomous vehicles. I've done the most work in C, but I'm now getting up to speed on python and the computer vision/numpy/data processing pipeline stack there for data quality/perception work, along with Linux desktop application architecting and development for AV utilities. Recently had to read the Linux kernel source and use the BCC tool suite to find a subtle issue in the network stack causing high latency on sensor data for AV, also coincidentally fixed most of the network timing infrastructure.
Currently working on some eBPF/BCC tools to improve GPU compute latency diagnosis and optimize model runs, with a plan to open source the results in a couple months.
Primary skills include hard real time embedded systems, safety critical applications, firmware development, system integration and complex hardware/software interaction debugging, along with detailed data analysis problems.
Side interests include machining, 3D printing, embedded system development, coffee roasting and furniture making.
I'm Kowshik Islam, a Toronto-based software engineer with a knack for building scalable and efficient solutions. I co-created Herald, an open-source observability platform for distributed applications, and spearheaded initiatives in automatic provisioning, microservices architecture, and containerization. Prior to Herald, as a self-employed developer, I contributed to the open-source community through several web apps. My career began at OFGO Studio, where I led the modernization of our existing infrastructure with software tools, transforming us into one of the most efficient companies in our domain. My educational journey is unique: I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), complemented by the first two years of Computer Science study, and a specialized software engineering track from Launch School.

Hi, I'm JD. I am a Software Engineer in the San Francisco bay area with six+ years experience across data engineering, back-end, and full-stack applications. I'm passionate about helping others, teaching, as well as improving the 'developer experience' across the board - for professionals and aspiring developers alike.
For two years I spent time at First Orion in the big data space, protecting users of First Orion products from malicious phone calls. My team designed and implemented the analysis and protection from spam and scam calls in major telecom networks that are still in use today.
I then spent four years at Google working to support users internally through my team's products and frameworks, as well as facilitating courses to teach best practice frameworks for their projects. I spent a lot of time working cross-functionally as a developer and design lead for several projects.
My goal is to keep helping others through my work as much as possible.
I'm mostly interested in remote work or hybrid positions in San Francisco, focused on back-end design or data engineering (but I can do full-stack as well). If my experience piques your interest or you'd like to know more, shoot me an email or message me on LinkedIn (link in resume) :)

Backend engineer, most recently worked on the data backend (database and api) for https://apertureplatform.com/ , 4.5 years software development experience, with previous experience and degree in computer hardware engineering. I'm open and interested in learning (or re-learning) languages and technologies that I may not have used recently, and would prefer working either in a team with established practices, or with an experienced team leader with a solid plan to implement them (i.e. not as a first or lead engineer myself).
I've worked across the entire stack: dockerizing frontend & backend applications, setting up AWS VMs (SSL certificates, NGINX configurations etc.), building React components & managing states with Redux, implemented and maintained Python server housing ML APIs, designed (under guidance of CTO) and implemented ML APIs for entity extraction and summarization of clinical data
I have a B.Eng in Biomedical Engineering and since graduating, I have worked: as an Analyst in one of the top cancer institutes in the world (Princess Margaret) and a Sales Engineer/R&D Engineer at a medical device startup (tool to help surgeons with hip replacement surgeries).
Currently, I'm working through the fast.ai lectures with the goal of creating a 'smart compose' for clinical notes.
Backend software engineer with 12+ years of experience building for multiple industries: education, energy, transportation, government, fintech (most recent experience) Currently exploring career growth opportunities and some stability. For the last 6 years I've been building robust payment systems for US, European and African companies. My latest project (PCI certified payfac with card payments, kyc, anti fraud, bank payouts, etc) was applauded by JPMC as the fastest successful implementation to date.
I work most often with: Go/Node, Postgres, Redis/Kafka, Docker/Compose/Kubernetes, AWS/DigitalOcean/Bare metal. I run all my personal projects from a k8s cluster on bare metal that I've maintained for over 6 years. Hats I can wear: Backend/Infrasturcture/Devops Engineer, Systems design, Software Architect, Head of Engineering
Here are some of things I have done for my previous employers, that I could be doing for you:
- Put all your services in containers, and make it easy to spin up development environments that resemble your production environment
- Package your SaaS into a virtual machine image that customers can self-host, and publish versions of it for all the major clouds and hypervisors
- Create Linux-based firmware for your embedded device, and work with the folks at the factory to get it flashed on the production line
- Reverse-engineer that weird binary that came in your board's BSP, and tell you exactly what it is doing and how to replicate it
- Write clever blog posts and technical articles about your products, which will explain how to use them while also being fun to read
- Lead a team of engineers, help them grow in their roles, and ship things
I love startups and greatly prefer them over working at a big company. I only work remotely, and I prefer to work for remote-first companies; I'm happy to meet up in person a few times a year, though. I'm a GitHub alumnus (from back before the acquisition) and have been a guest author for Linux Weekly News. I have an M.S. in Computer Science and over twenty years of industry experience. I live in the US Midwest, so I might be cheaper than you're expecting!

I’ve had a nearly 20 year career as an SRE / DevOps engineer and as an
IT manager, with a period of practicing permaculture in the jungle in
Brazil in between. I would enjoy working as a contributing engineer at a
smaller company, or coordinating DevOps and reliability engineering at a
larger company as a manager. Either way, it should be company I can

I am at a point in my life where relocation is a possibility for the
right job. I hold an EU passport.
My name is Burhanuddin Rashid, and I am a software engineer with 8+ years of experience in developing mobile applications. I am an open-source enthusiast and a Google Developer Expert in Dart and Flutter.
I owe most of my career to the open-source community. I got exposed to this when I open-sourced my first Android PhotoEditor library, which reached around 3.8K stars and is still active. This led me to an opportunity to speak at Droidcon Berlin 2021, sharing my open-source learnings.
Work-wise, currently, I am working remotely from SFO for a startup called Rock, which is a chat plus task management app. We are a remote-first company and building a product that allows users to work remotely in an asynchronous manner with fewer meetings.
My biggest contribution so far in the product was to improve code and app quality by introducing testing to the team.
Before that, I was the Android tech lead to build an offline-first app to manage package delivery with real-time location tracking, collaborating with a remote team. Apart from this, I've also worked on web and backend technologies like React and Spring Boot, which gives me additional knowledge of how the system works end-to-end.
Also, in my free time, I learn and share my knowledge by writing blogs, newsletters, Youtube videos, or speaking at conferences.
About Me:
An enthusiastic, results-oriented DevOps Engineer, I bring a combination of technical proficiency, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to every project. My passion for continuous learning helps me stay at the forefront of evolving technology trends. I'm known for being a team player who thrives in collaborative environments, yet am also able to work independently to drive projects forward.
Open to new opportunities, I'm eager to leverage my expertise to contribute to a dynamic and progressive organization. For any further queries, I can be reached at abdulqadir41098@gmail.com.

Lately I have been working on open maps/db for small/independent political campaigns. I also have been working on automating stuff at my current job for fun (templating, data reuse, quality improvement). I have also built a small personal database for scraping baseball card prices, along with pictures, from eBay and storing all this data (and which card the person has) in a sqlite db. I mostly do this as a hobby, but would like to switch over to programming as I feel like I can do more good, enjoy it more, and feel like there is more opportunities than my current industry. I also have a keen interest in economics and cybernetics/Operations Research. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

I'm a largely-self taught Full-Stack developer with a focus on the Front-End/Design side of things. I've got ~6 years experience professionally programming. At my last position I went from Developer => Tech Lead in about a year and before I left was leading 5/6 teams without failure to deliver. Knowledgeable in 508 compliance and architecting entire projects/Working within departments to solve issues. I'm the kind of developer who asks a lot of questions to as many people as necessary to get the job done.
I'm Wayne, a software engineer based in Portland, OR.
Most recently I built Herald, an open source application that simplifies deployment of a full observability pipeline, condensing a complex multi-application deployment (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Fleet Server) into just a few simple steps.
You can view the full technical case study where I discuss the use case, design decisions and implementation challenges of building Herald here: https://herald-app.github.io
Technologies: Python, Typescript, React, (Learning C)
Dream role:
I would love the opportunity to work with C (or Rust) in a professional setting. I think there are a lot of interesting problems that are being tackled in this space (audio processing, embedded, linux development and latency sensitive applications). I realize my experience is limited in this area but I hope that my current skills can bring value to your team (and business) while I build up confidence and competency. I'm hungry and always willing to learn. I enjoy working for smaller companies and teams :)
About:
Currently working for a trading team in a large investment bank. Prior to that I worked across the web-stack for 3 years at a start-up. As of the last year I have found myself becoming increasingly interested in performance focused programming and I find great joy in learning how the fundamental components of our software works (think memory allocation, semantics, concurrency, os basics).
* I'm a full-stack developer with 12+ years of professional experience building software and solving problems on the web.
* I co-founded and ran a Web Agency with the primary development stack as LAMP/WordPress for 5 years as a tech lead serving clients from the US, UK, AU, Canada, and India before relocating to the US in 2015.
* In the US I worked for small-scale startups in SF Bay Area until 2018 and got hands-on experience with US work standards and culture.
* I am fairly competent and have high values when it comes to my work ethic.
* At present, I am based in Kathmandu and looking for a full-time or part-time opportunity to work as a web developer.
* I am at my best when the work is async and flexible.
* Ideally, I’d like to work with bootstrapped founders.
Please get in touch if you are in need of a reliable developer assistant at just $50/hour.
Hey! We’re Emergence Engineering, a small-ish dev shop from the EU. Part of our team is looking for work, we’ve been working for US & UK based startups for a while now. Our team is:
- Two devs with deep React / Node knowledge between mid and senior level
- Two very good junior-ish devs with React knowledge
We look for a place where we can make a difference and do interesting work with a lot of responsibility, the team is well balanced meaning that we have exploring / figuring out and executing types.
Full-Stack Web Developer. Looking for Elixir/Phoenix work. 7+ years of professional experience working with various web technologies, mainly Python, Django and Svelte(Kit). Would be open for working with Python/Django/Svelte(Kit). Also open to work on frontend and/or backend only projects. Website refresh/new website projects is also something I'm interested in.
Availability: part-time, +- 25 hours per week or less
I'm Veronica, a fast learner and curious Jr. Front-End developer specializing in React, Javascript and user interfaces. I'm looking for opportunities to make great things with an awesome team.
I have experience being the Scrum Master of some projects.
I posted last month and had a few worthwhile conversations, so posting this again!
I'm an entrepreneur & product person. I've been an exec at two successful exits (Duo, Rapid7) and started my own company (Ambassador Labs) whose story is still being written. I'm super-interested in LLMs and what issues people are running into. So I'm interested in anyone who could use a product person for a part-time consulting gig. The more interesting the consulting, the less you need to pay me! :)
Some examples of work I could do would be helping you tell your story, building a sales deck, or maybe figuring out what you could do with all the new AI stuff. Or something else. Thanks for reading.
I provide consulting services for everything in the OpenAI / LLM / ChatGPT realm. I'm an ex-Google consultant who now enjoys working with LLMs. After extensive work on projects for the likes of a16z and Village Global, I've developed advanced techniques for solving traditional problems in the space.
I mainly provide Chat Bot / Assistant / Co-Pilot / Question Answering systems over your custom / private dataset. Everything from basic (vector similarity retrieval + chat functionality) to advanced (massive accuracy improvement over vector similarity) systems.
I also have extensive ETL / data experience, so if your dataset is large, and/or is not already cleaned / prepared / queryable, that won't be an issue.
All projects are fixed-price (no hourly billing). A typical basic chat bot / question answering system is $15,000 flat fee (excluding cloud hosting and OpenAI API costs) with a 2-week turnaround.
Position Types: Lead DevOps Engineer, DevOps Manager, SRE
Technologies: DevOps / Solutions Architecture / Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) / CI/CD, Kubernetes, Microservices, Containerization. Systems engineer doing DevOps for the last 8+ years. I have an eclectic background working with small and large stacks. Mostly focusing on CI/CD, cost analysis, SOC2/Compliance and working hands on with developers to solve complex problems. I am interested in a mission driven company looking to develop DevOps methodologies with the potential of building a team.

--------------
Hello, my name is Isaac Alter, I am a back end developer with a background in C# and C++. Currently, I have about a year's experience with Ruby, Rails, HTML, postgreSQL, graphQL, and Python. I'm looking for that first foot in the door, so I'm more than willing for apprenticeships and paid internship positions. I am driven and a quick learner, able to successfully dedicate myself to learn a concept or technology to see development through. If any might know some opportunities or potential hires please feel free to reach out!
Most recently, I co-created Herald, an open-source application that simplifies the deployment of a full observability pipeline, condensing a complex multi-application deployment (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Fleet Server) into just a few simple steps.
Please visit https://herald-app.github.io to read the full technical case study where the use case, design decisions and implementation challenges of building Herald are discussed.
About me: I am actively seeking a B2B-based full-time position, traditional full-time employment or part-time/freelance work. With 4 years of experience primarily as a .NET developer I worked in various domains building small and large scale solutions. In my free time, I enjoy learning and experimenting with new technologies and working on personal hobby projects, which, to be honest, often end up unfinished in the graveyard. That's something I really need to work on and finish some stuff ;)
I am not afraid of learning new things, in fact, I find it highly interesting, and it's one of the reasons I pivoted from my previous profession (Biology/Molecular Biology) into a development role. While I value my personal time, when I'm "on-call," I am fully dedicated. Transparency and direct communication are important to me, as are healthy team dynamics, and I strive to uphold these values.
If you have a challenging/fun project that requires a dedicated C#/.NET developer who can work remotely, please feel free to reach out.
Any feedback that is not job-offer related would also be very much appreciated!

A TypeScript enthusiast and a generalist full stack developer, thriving in dynamic and fast paced startups for about 4 years. Always looking up to using latest tools available to help improve development experience. Worked with distributed teams across wide range of timezones and collaborated efficiently to ship products.
I've been a fullstack developer in higher ed for the past 12 years building line of business applications. My focus has been web apps for workflow automation, ETL, and data visualization. I've also done quite a bit with WordPress, Shopify, and Hubspot. I've built Rails and Django projects from start to finish. I've been a solo team of one, an individual contributor in a group, a team leader, a freelancer, and everything in between. Willing to branch out into just about anything except crypto/blockchain. US citizen, no visa required.
Hi there! I am a junior front-end web developer with a deep love for what I do. I am driven by an unwavering level of motivation and looking for a beginner opportunity. Although I may not have as much experience as others, I put my heart and love into everything I create, ensuring high-quality results.
Despite being located in a different timezone, I am more than willing to adapt my schedule to ensure seamless collaboration and productivity.
If you are seeking a driven and adaptable team member who brings a genuine passion for their work, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Resume: https://bit.ly/3B3o65M (It links to my CV repo at Github, pinky promise. You can also visit github.com/<hnusername>.)
I'm not actively looking (hence why my resume link is obfuscated like that) but I'm at least interested in getting a feel for the market right now. That said, I'm willing to consider a position with a great fit for my skill set and career goals.
Here's my pitch: I have experience in a multitude of industries and positions. From improving legacy infra and processes in an established telco company to scaling a fast-moving startup from 200K to 2M users. In my free time, I love writing Code That Is Poetry but day-to-day I am not an idealist engineer who doesn't compromise. Well-engineered code is clean and correct but correct above all else.
Oh, also, I'm great at writing documentation. I consider myself introverted but apparently my communication skills are above average for Software Engineers. I also pride myself on my humility and modesty. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I'd love to explore other technical positions in the games industry short of joining a AAA studio because (a) I don't want to crunch and (b) my skill set does not lay that way. I'm also interested in B2C businesses where the 'C' is software developers. I'd love to chat and network about opportunities but, to be honest, I'd like to emphasize that I am not currently actively looking so at the moment there might be a pretty high bar of what piques my interest.

I've been writing code since 95 and have done game, mobile, back and frontend development. I've also lead teams and founded my own startups (first one in 2010). I'm in love with Typescript ecosystem and looking for fully remote positions with async communication. I like functional programming, static typing and diving into product/business side of things.
I'm a product engineer with 3 years of software engineering experience. I programmed in many languages as my CS education taught me to learn languages quickly. I'll learn whatever technologies there are. I also have a few skills in hacking (e.g. replicating rowhammer or compromising a Docker container via an SQL injection - that one has a twist!).
I have an additional academic background in psychology and a humble professional background in coaching teachers and teaching software engineering. I love self-development on a personal level. I've helped myself and friends to get into long lasting romantic relationships, and had to dispel many myths to get there! Currently, I meditate a lot to be the best, loving and sustainably altruistic version of myself for the world around me.

I founded and have run https://jsonip.com for about 13 years and have scaled it to currently support several million requests a day.
I'm very interested in some new challenges to tackle and grow my skill set.
In particular, I'm extremely interested in roles that involve building dev tools and improving the workflows of fellow engineers.
I'm also very interested in roles involving ML devops.

I am a Frontend Software Developer with 2 years of experience. I have worked with some big name fintech companies and have led small teams.

Looking for full-time job in the US, just graduated with a Master's in Engineering Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Former tech journo that covered bleeding edge consumer tech and transitioned to product marketing / digital marketing / corporate PR. Last office job was with Google (PH) as Content Manager, currently freelancing as an SEO specialist / content writer. Looking for full-time / freelance remote roles.
Hello, I am an exited cofounder/CTO of a SaaS company that provides a no-code environment to insurance companies for building video focused insurance claim management systems, and ex-CTO of the company that acquired it. Prior to cofounding I was a C++ engineer specialising in real time communication technologies such as VoIP. The time I spent building a SaaS (and scaling up post acquisition) involved wearing every conceivable technical hat. I also spent a fair bit of time working directly with insurance companies to design integration projects and new platform features in response to their needs.
I have empathy for users.
Post-exit, I have been working on personal and open source technical projects, such as my recently released pet project NakedJSX: https://nakedjsx.org. I am also a core dev team member of VICE (the 8-bit Commodore computer emulator) where I have focused on the significant performance gains made possible by migration to a multi-threaded architecture.
I am still hungry to design, build, lead, and grow - and I would love to talk to you about your project. I am probably best suited for an early-stage / small organisation, but also curious about life in a larger organisation that could use someone who relentlessly gets things done. I think I would enjoy working remotely for a U.S. based startup.
Location: Lima, Peru (UTC -5) open to work on US timezones
Remote: Yes
Willing to relocate: Depends on Location
Technologies: java, rest-assured, selenium, cypress, jmeter, docker

Senior QA Engineer (Manual and Automation) with 8+ years of experience, I have a knack for finding bugs and automating tests. I also enjoy measuring the application performance. I'm looking for a new challenge where I can apply my skills and learn new ones. I have experience working with Credit Sesame, a leading fintech company, as my last client.
I'm a computing generalist who mostly writes code, but has held a broad variety of roles, including k-root operator, network researcher, data engineer, trainer and car counter. Much of my code is on the system or platform level, but I can also build websites, apps, tooling or do data analysis or even a bit of GPU programming. Mostly I learn by doing, picking up skills as needed on the job or when hacking on open-source projects.
I've spent much of my career thinking about how we could build and operate software projects better. I've identified some problems common to most places I've worked and abstractions I think could solve them. This focus helps me be a better engineer and maybe someday I can turn these ideas into a company.
For the past 8 years I've spent half my time freelancing and am open to new gigs.
But I'm now hoping to find a permanent high-level IC position in a team of sharp, dedicated peers where I feel that craftsmanship is valued. I find when you dig into the weeds there is an infinite amount of interesting challenges in almost every domain; ideally we would be working on something with great potential to advance humanity and bring financial independence.
My style is modest, easy to understand architectures, ample docs and extra layers of security. I enjoy giving code reviews, accepting criticism and sharing knowledge. I'd say the most important skill of an engineer is managing the inevitable complexity that arises as systems grow, for example to isolate it by dividing a system into loosely-coupled components
I'm Himanshu Sheoran, working as a windows security engineer. I have most recently worked on developing security compliance scan and remediation module and XDR. I'm looking to relocate for an awesome in-person or hybrid team, with a very high preference for France, Belgium, or Montréal, a high preference for any other EU country, NYC, Chicago, and a mild preference for Denver, Portland, SFBA, DC, or Boston.
I am a native speaker of English and have an intermediate level in French.
I am an American citizen and thus require a visa to work outside of the US.
---
About me: I'm a solidly mid-senior level software engineer with an unusual and impressive background. I am highly proficient in Ruby, Rails, TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js, SQL, and many other technologies (see my resume). I thrive most when solving interesting problems relating to the infrastructure of the company. By that, I mean the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes it work--internal ledgers and other systems, encryption, just the services that do their thing to make the business run smoothly. I'm also very happy working on product work.
If you see my resume, you'll notice I have a decent amount of YOE, but my actual experience far exceeds the number of "years" that I have. Everyone learns and produces at a different pace, and some, like me, can achieve and master in 3 years what the typical dev will in 8 YOE. I credit this to my willingness to jump into things as well as my solid fundamentals I built up.
Read the resume. Send me an email. You'll see what I mean.

I like to focus primarily on B2C consumer applications (particularly very product-driven companies), but not against any particularly interesting B2B company either.
Ideal company size is 10-50 in size, where engineers/product is a strong driver of the company growth.
Have been working on a high-performance, collaborative "Figma for business" (contracting for US-based company) using Rust + WebGL + WebAssembly (WASM) for the past ~1.5 years. Exploring compilers on the side as a personal interest.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
I've worked for two years as a Back-End Developer. Now I am searching for a job. I've been writing mostly on Python, but I am open to learn new technologies and languages
CV: available on request. 4 years commercial experience + 4 years in highly technical PhD writing open source simulation software.
Interests in renewable energy, scientific/engineering companies, tech for good. Enjoy working on challenging technical problems. Looking for new role as current company going through an extended period of instability.

Desired position: Senior Developer/Engineering Manager/Software Architect
I have been employed in software development for almost 10 years and have written code for significantly longer. I am a deep specialist in databases and a good generalist in most other areas. I built myself as a T-shaped developer. I have worked databases, back-end, front-end (web and native, mobile and desktop) and testing throughout my time. With databases, I have experience with everything from relational algebra theory (I studied C.J. Date) to database design and normalization to query, procedure and index optimization. Throughout my career, I have developed a systemic viewpoint and an ability to understand how different components of a project and different teams interact together, all in order to walk the path of technical leadership. As a true engineer, I understand the importance of measuring before changing. Also, I am a sociable person and I have a teaching degree and have taught on numerous occasions with excellent results. Currently I am learning Solidity.
Due to my experience, I am currently aiming for a software architect/engineering manager/team lead role, or a role with growth opportunities toward a similar tech leadership position, a position in which I can grow and polish the skills of colleagues. From a tech stack POV, I am most excited by opportunities to work in Rust and opportunities to work on free open-source software. If you are looking to make the world a better place and need an engineer contact me.
Engineering manager, 10+ years of experience of software development, 3 of them - managing a core/platform team (still hands on). Best value I can provide at developer experience, platform development, or somewhere close to DevOps.
My name is Ramil. I am a software developer with almost 8 ears of experience. Currently looking for a job as a frontend developer. I have experience in both industrial development and startups.
Friendly and experienced engineer who enjoys helping a team gel and building useful things. Skills are up to date, and I love a good startup, but I can also handle legacy (codebases and people) just fine.
I’m Simon, a full-stack Engineer with three years experience at JPMorgan Chase working in Java, JavaScript, Cloud, Security and DevOps. I worked with globally distributed teams to promote best practices such as Cloud adoption, ensure auditing standards were met, and coordinate the bank’s OSS security initiative. I worked remotely with clients throughout the whole SDLC process from requirement gathering to testing and operations, and once the app was operational I leveraged it to work alongside teams that we identified as most vulnerable to help them mitigate their security flaws. Our stack was a highly scalable web app with a Java Microservices backend and an Angular JavaScript frontend, deployed across multiple kubernetes clusters by way of a fully automated CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins).
Outside of work I have been studying Mandarin for the past 2.5 years. I left JPMorgan in September of last year to head to Taiwan for a 6 month language course, and now I'm looking for fully remote dev jobs that can facilitate me basing myself in Taiwan long term. Ideally looking for full time work, GMT+8, but open to discussion about being flexible with the time zone.
At this stage in my career I still consider myself something of a generalist. I have played around with a lot of languages and frameworks in my free time and have enjoyed pretty much all of them, so I'm open to whatever you might have to offer as long as there is room to challenge myself and keep learning. Not interested in Crypto.
Technologies: python, javascript c++ c java sh perl make linux.. and plethora others, prolog and android to SoC and assemblers.. making other languages where needed. Also paradigms, methodologies, cultures etc. All that jazz.
About: Making software for 33+ years.. seen many companies, projects, cultures, teams, machines, technologies, and.. attitudes.
Been everything, now CTO of a fintech, usually wearing many hats, always hands-on.
Have my python course. Style. Some open-sourced things. Opinions. Whatever.
Looking for mentoring a team. About programming and life - with me coming there.. or them coming here, would gel better.
Like playing trainer, within the team and the project. Did it once officially, 2013/Ericsson/Ireland - 10 newbies, young+old, 4 months.. all seniors now.
Many times unofficially, 2005 Singapore or 2019 Varna.. Made some good friends along.
But.. don't expect me lecturing all-time. Nor coding it all myself. That's not the point.
i mean - architecting, coding, requirements, reverse engineering, DIY, decisions, strategy - is fine, and management-politics isn't, but i like best mentoring.
Teaching people about programming, life, 42, and how to live as programmer, without going crazy, and without making others crazy.
And how to tweak that function- interface- server- app- or relation, so all works better together. Nudging or nagging here-there, smiling or kicking elsewhere..
IMO the interesting part of software, is the people - technical stuff is fixable..

A Product Manager with 3 YOE building incredible products at YC companies (Caper and Instacart)!
I am an experienced and ambitious Product Manager with a strong track record of driving impact and delivering successful products. My expertise lies in payment systems AI products, where I have led impactful B2B and B2C product development, including Machine Learning (ML) SaaS platforms, Computer Vision hardware, growth & core user experience, monetization and payment systems.
Joining Caper just after their Series A, I lead the 0 to 1 development of the Caper Counter product line. I had the opportunity to guide a significant portion of Caper's product portfolio through successful Series B fundraising and $350MM acquisition by Instacart. During my tenure at Instacart, I played a pivotal role as a Product Manager in the development of the Caper Counter AI self-checkout system. I tripled its Gross-Transactional Value (GTV) to $3 million within a year by introducing AI enhancements and optimizing the user experience. Additionally, I led strategic initiatives, spearheaded the development of a SaaS retailer tooling system and loss prevention machine learning algorithm.
What sets me apart is my ambition, dedication, and adaptability across various product domains. From software to hardware, payment systems to computer vision, I have a proven ability to lead the full lifecycle of products and drive meaningful impact. I am excited to bring my expertise and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that will shape the future of your company.
I'm looking new PM/ Sr. PM roles to build incredible products alongside stellar teams! Let's connect :)
Particularly interested in CI/CD, build systems, developer tooling, developer experience. If you want a random small internal CLI, I can probably hack it out in a day. If you work with Erlang/Elixir and have been curious about Gleam, lets talk about it!
Hoping to find somewhere to settle down for a while; not having health insurance is a bit of a drag. I tend to be a bit of an early bird, so try not to let my timezone be a deal breaker. I'm usually awake before most of the east coast US.
Well versed in python and javascript, but capable in other languages as well (have deployed Java/Golang/C recently). I've recently been working in privacy/security, currently working on combating disinformation. I'm looking for a new role currently as the non-profit I founded lost two big grants.
My experience ranges from working on backend APIs to frontend SPAs as well as building ML pipelines, bespoke search engines, mobile apps. My strength is in diving into new areas and getting up and running quickly. I work extremely well in entrepreneurial contexts, balancing long-term goals with short-term deadlines in all technical decisions.
I'm a senior full-stack software engineer based in West Palm Beach, FL. Most recently, I was the lead architect and developer of Fortuna, a highly available and fault-tolerant open-source Ethereum transfer event ingestor used to keep track of all ERC20, ERC721, and ERC1155 transfer events and token metadata since genesis. It ingests, calculates, stores, and serves terabytes of data. https://github.com/upstreamapp/fortuna.
I'm also the co-creator of Campion, https://campion-breaker.github.io, an edge-based serverless middleware for implementing circuit-breaking functionality for distributed services.
Technologies: Python & Java (many years each), Go/Golang (newest preferred), Rust (newb but admire), C (recent refresh, once daily/fav lang but avoid), web dev, SQL, git, Linux, Docker, cloud hosting, distributed systems, threading, performance & scalability, some ML (plain old math & queries, Bayesian models/inference, OLS regression, game actor behavior models, not neural nets)
decades of programming. solid computing system fundamentals. problem solving. brainstorming. prototyping. communication. technical team lead. software architect. SRE-ish. author of cheatsheet on Software Performance & Scalability. former Orbitz/Cheaptickets senior engineer on core tech. Tech research, due diligence and consulting for US State Department, to help bolster national/allied public APD defenses. Indie game engine & personal tool creator since childhood. built & ran small computer game biz years ago. Wrote, shipped & sold a zombie apocalypse sim a decade ago, directly to the public.
For a recent client I did systems programming R&D on mem alloc latency and SEGV resilience, in C for Linux/POSIX, delivering new code, benchmarks, a diagram and a report successfully demonstrating how to upgrade the performance and uptime of their near-RT revenue-sensitive ad-bidding backend
Lately I have 2 side projects in free time: building an educational sim (in Golang) about dire threats to democracy & climate (along with possible fixes); and writing a book on performance & scalability (in public view in my GitHub).
This summer, I am thrilled to be selected as a Google Summer of Code 2023 Student Developer at GitLab for the second consecutive year. My GSoC project aims to enhance GitLab's merge request comparisons using git range-diff, enabling effective code reviews and verifying changes during rebasing.
Here is the link to it: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2023/projects/Z...
Recently, I have been selected as a mentee for The Linux Foundation's LFX Mentorship Spring 2023 Program, to work on the Cortex Project. I am working on implementing an API in Cortex for importing old Prometheus TSDB block data to simplify the migration of data from Prometheus to Cortex.
Last summer, I worked as a Google Summer of Code 2022 Student Developer at GitLab, a DevOps platform. I worked with the Gitaly team, which is a Git RPC service which is responsible for handling git calls made by GitLab. My tasks were to integrate the mailmap feature in GitLab. Apart from that, I also worked on GitLab's contributor graph feature to use git-shortlog which will improve the performance of the graph.
I have been actively contributing to other OSS projects like Zulip which is a real-time team chat system and Git, a distributed version control system. At IVY, I have written functions and tests for the ML transpiler and deep learning framework. In the process, I learned not only about how web platforms work, but also have some knowledge of how low level systems like kernel work.
Hi. I'm Craig. I'm an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Systems Architect and Microsoft Certified Professional with a passion for software development.
I work primarily, but not exclusively, with Microsoft technologies and the .NET / .NET Core frameworks, leading complex and challenging enterprise software development projects to successfully deliver robust, secure, scalable and efficient software solutions, encompassing over 20 years of experience in the field.
An accomplished team leader, mentor and architect, I'm skilled at taking a leading role in the overall architecture of a project, in driving team developments and employing proven industry disciplines and best-practices to deliver successful software projects that frequently exceed client expectations.
I'm passionate about distributed systems design, CQRS and event sourcing and a proponent of domain-driven design to ensure that solutions are laser-focused on solving real business problems. I'm an open source enthusiast and advocate using the best and most appropriate tools available, providing for an effective and pragmatic solution that delivers genuine and quantifiable business value.
Throughout my career I've helped numerous businesses of varying sizes in varying industries get their technology investment right and I can do the same for you.
Recent projects include:
+ Successfully delivered large section of an ambitious project to re-engineer a number of monolithic applications to cloud-native, event-driven distributed services for a leading hospitality software provider as part of a company-wide effort to modernise entire software estate including training and mentoring staff on event-driven architecture and distributed system design.
+ Successfully designed & delivered large, global SaaS product to manage and automate music royalty collection and payment for one of the UK's largest and most demanding independent music publishers including full cloud geo-distribution & redundancy to ensure high availability & reliability for the worldwide client base.
+ Successfully lead project to develop industry leading anti-motor fraud web application and API with advanced OLAP & OLTP system and data warehouse including one of Europe's largest anti-fraud databases for a Top 40 UK law firm.
+ Successfully lead project to deliver a market-leading, best-of-breed corporate travel management web & desktop-based product suite for a company who, largely as a result of the technology, were later acquired in a multi-million pound deal.
