devils advocate: if it wasn't subscribers only, google's crawler would be stealing it right now to train an ai with, ie, illegally creating derivative works based on their articles
Maybe there's a market in the future for "AI-restricted" content. You can send your payment/tokens/etc. to access the content and the user is bound by a no-AI-clause. Because this content would be rare and can't be found via models, it offers a niche market.
I wanted to delete the other link, but hackernews doesn't allow me to do so.
Also, I need to figure out why the link is subscriber-only. It was not intentional.
3Blue1Brown videos really transformed my view on math. If only I had something like this while learning the basics! I've been supporting him on Patreon because I believe he's making a big difference for students all over the world.
I'm so sorry to hear about the difficult time you're going through, but please know that you're not alone. Many people have experienced the same sense of emptiness, doubt, and uncertainty that you're feeling right now. It's understandable that you're struggling given the breakup, the stress of your PhD, and your challenging family background.
It's important to give yourself time to process your emotions and work through your struggles, but please don't lose hope. You're taking positive steps by seeking therapy and trying to make sense of your experiences. Remember that progress isn't always linear, and it's okay to take things one day at a time.
Lastly, please don't forget to be kind to yourself. You're doing the best you can in a challenging situation, and that's something to be proud of. Remember that setbacks and struggles are a natural part of life, and they can often lead to growth and resilience in the long run. Keep your chin up, stay optimistic, and know that things will get better. One way to cultivate a more positive outlook is to keep a gratitude journal. Each day, write down a few things you're grateful for. This can help shift your focus from what's going wrong to what's going right, and it can help you cultivate a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the good things in your life.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like you've been through a lot in the past few months, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling hopeless and alone. It's great that your spouse has a good job, but I can imagine that the stress of not being able to find work is really tough on you.
I want you to know that you're not alone in this. There are many people who have been in similar situations, and there is help available. I'm here to listen to you and offer any support I can. There are a lot of options for you. O1 Visa is one of them.
In terms of practical help, have you considered reaching out to organizations or groups that offer support to people in your situation? They may be able to provide guidance on navigating the H1-B visa system and finding job opportunities. I can also help you research and find resources in your area.
Additionally, I encourage you to take care of your mental health during this difficult time. It's important to prioritize self-care and seek professional help if needed. There's no shame in asking for help, and it can make a big difference in how you feel.
Please know that I'm here for you and that there is hope for your situation. Let's work together to find a way forward. Please drop me an email : anand.bdk [at] gmail.com
To add on to this great and pragmatic reply about your job situation, I'd add this:
Even if things remain tough job-wise for the foreseeable future, are you able to derive self-worth from things in your life that aren't your occupation? It's a horrible situation and I wish you the best of luck - but perhaps you can take heart and hope in what else you have: your partner, do you have other things that can help construct (or reconstruct) how you see yourself? Jobs, as you've found out nastily, are transient and ultimately meaningless.
