Elon is probably quite wrong if he actually expects a consistent linear relationship between hours in and output.

It does seem as if he's very smart and able to lead significant enterprises to success, however.

There might be two takeaways here:

1) Even smart/successful people may believe things that are wrong.

2) The point of Musk's statement may be something other than to communicate an accurate model of output vs labor.
