Why not change it at retrospective? If daily standup has become rigid, it has violated the most important part of the manifesto: "Individuals and interactions over processes and tools."
Every process of the team is open to change at retrospective: "At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts
its behavior accordingly." So change it. :-)
