Is there a sanctioned way to get the flavor of the book?

Take a look at the Stony Brook Algorithm Repository: http://www3.cs.stonybrook.edu/~algorith/

A lot of the examples are excerpted from the book.

The Look Inside works for me on amazon.com, are you using a country specific amazon website?
