The HN title is

"The digital revolution has yet to fulfil its promise of productivity and jobs",

but the economist title seems more realistic:

"The digital revolution has yet to fulfil its promise of higher productivity and better jobs".

The problem seems to be that we haven't figured out what to do with people that are no longer relevant once their jobs are automated (e.g. factory workers).
