I've gotten about a 80-90% response rate to the template I show in the post. With a more naive template, it was often more like 10-20%.

That's a pretty great template, I get at least 5 emails a week (usually a little more) and I try to reply to them just because you never know when the market could change and you need contacts to get a job. That said it's usually a week later that I reply that I'm not interested but thanks for thinking of me but an email like yours would get an immediate reply.

To be honest, I'd be far more inclined to reply to an email from Stripe (a company I recognise/like) than most other cold mail.

Also the advice about including a specific actionable time to make the next step is golden. Telling people exactly what you want converts best in most scenarios.

Yeah, that is true. I believe company name may play a HUGE role in the response rate.

Thanks, gdb. I'm totally gonna plagiarize you when I need to send cold emails. :)

That is pretty impressive. I guess more people respond to cold email/calling than I would have thought.

Personally, I always click spam on that kind of thing unless I've shown somewhere that I'm actively searching.

Remember that his emails are coming from Stripe. If you're recruiting for generic unknown startup expect your response rates to be lower.

I don't do recruiting and I don't work for a startup. ;)

But this is true.

Guess you're one of the remaining 20-10% :).

Haha, you'd never send me one of those emails so we'll never know. <3

That is quite impressive
