Employee was still working there, in most European countries you cannot just "fire" someone unless they have done something, you have to give them notice (which is a reasonable length of time).
Yes, but she wanted him to work after hours. So, btw, apparently this what she normally demands from her employees - IMO this is wrong in itself, but to expect that from someone who was just fired is, just... well, totally stupid or just infinitely arrogant, not entirely sure what is the case here.
