Interesting... I'm working on a similar concept with SeekSift.com, but I'm approaching the user discovery/sharing from a different perspective.

yours is better for the same reason that originalsignal is better; you can see more headlines on one page like a newspaper. this is pretty much what I use originalsignal for

Thanks, I tried to find the right balance between enough content and over-filling the page.

Still, it's intended to be more than just a simple feed reader.

The recommendations system (only ahem slightly behind schedule), based on a system of shared inputs, is what will really make it stand out (or not).

YC turned this idea down because PG was afraid of Google Reader (wimp) ;

In this case as in most there were several reasons.

I know, just kidding around. I'd love to hear feedback from everyone here.

i like originalsignal.com better - less content, but better ui

Apples & Oranges.

did you go beyond originalsignal's front page like: http://web20.originalsignal.com/ ?

FeedEachOther is a full featured feed reader, like Google Reader or BlogLines. Original Signal shows one set of preselected headlines to everyone on a few topics. It's great at what it does, but it's quite different.

good point, but i still think your site would a lot cooler if you could change the ui to a newspaper format like origsignal's layout

it's the same reason why i don't use g reader

...the more i check out your site, the more I like it... it's just that one pet peeve of mine that keeps me from dumping original signal for your site

We plan on adding such a view as an option. Expect it sometime in the next few weeks. Thanks for checking it out!
