I hope this is a sign the people have realized democracy has failed, they have no real power, and that we need to fight the oligarchs

Pure democracy failed when the elected leaders decided to experiment with not enforcing laws.

It's probably slightly more correct to state that they failed to get full democracy.

America has a long history of denying democracy to its people, so it's not exactly a secret.

On a long enough timescale it can be seen to becoming more democratic but there were setbacks along the way and the oligarchy made a few strong moves over the last few decades.

Hilariously, Donald Trump's re-election is such a great example of how powerful democracy is if you actually do it.

But Americans are so pacified that it takes conspiracy theories to get them interested in invoking their supreme power at the ballot box

That voter apathy is intentional. Making you believe "both sides" (as if there are only two sides) are the same is intentional.

If you hate politicians, make them fear you at the ballot box. Let someone else go to jail for murder.

I think democracy has definitely failed. And if people start fighting oligarchs, that wouldn't be a bad thing either, provided it is done strategically.
