Even preceding the tech stack decision, many devs err when they misunderstand what they are writing. GMail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc. are apps, if you don't need that level of interactivity, it's probably just a crud app (AirBnB, Craigslist, ecommerce, etc.) and you'd be fine with more a mostly server-side framework.
