A writing app. We have loads of word processors, code editors, note taking apps, distraction free writing apps (which really seem more about making you feel productive than providing something suited to the task and helping you be more productive) but little in the way of apps really suited to the writing process. It is mostly an exercise and will probably never become a well refined app since I am not a programmer and happy with good enough for my needs but once it is functional maybe someone who can program will take it up or write something better.
I have a nagging feeling that my choice of Tcl/Tk will bite me but it is what I am currently learning, doing my best to plan ahead so it will not be an issue to shift the heavy lifting to C if the need arises but I am probably not capable enough of a programmer to plan ahead in this way. But it is mostly an exercise and getting bitten is part of learning.
