Interesting to note that China has something like "freedom time". If you are in the west of the country, the sun rises at 9am and sets around 9pm, when in the east it rises at 6am and sets at 6pm. The entire country is on one time, Beijing Time, despite it stretching 3 time zones & Beijing being close to the eastern extremity.
