Show HN: Quadra – organize your tasks and notes beautifully (quadra-two.vercel.app)

Looks cute until you begin typing multiple tasks into one quadrant and suddenly the layout is completely broken, with the colored bars failing to expand along with the cells.

If there’s a way to move tasks from one quadrant to another besides cutting and pasting I sure don’t see it on the tablet I’m using at the moment.

Dedicating a quarter of the tiny space available in this little layout to tasks that are both “unimportant” and “not urgent” sure is a choice that was made.

I'll definitely take a look! Thank you for the feedback!

Yeah, same experience, i think using a table here would've been easier to accomplish this alignments.

The user experience might work better with display:grid based css (instead of flex): https://codepen.io/paulgpetty/pen/VwOPRKJ/5aebb16e99bbea2f13...

Click to edit is broken, felt it was read only until i realized you had to click the text-filled area. Make the whole quadrant clickable.

Will do! Thx

What is this adding that other sites already do?

Also… I hate to say it, but it doesn’t look very “beautiful” to me:

* It’s usually best to avoid a pure white color for the background

* The UI elements feel a little small

* The text also feels a little small

This Quadra method stems from the "Eisenhower Decision Principle".

Tasks are evaluated using the criteria important/unimportant and urgent/not urgent, and then placed in quadrants in an Eisenhower Matrix.

- Important/Urgent quadrant tasks are done immediately and personally, e.g. crises, deadlines, problems.

- Important/Not Urgent quadrant tasks get an end date and are done personally, e.g. relationships, planning, recreation.

- Unimportant/Urgent quadrant tasks are delegated, e.g. interruptions, meetings, activities.

- Unimportant/Not Urgent quadrant tasks are dropped, e.g. time wasters, pleasant activities, trivia.

Tangental, but I still haven't found a better personal task management system than Knuth's: make a list of everything you need to do, the task items you want to do least are almost always the ones you need to do first. Works good.

Wow, great advice! Makes sense

Definitely feels like one of my bootcamp apps from back in the day.

A really well done one though! I've seen some ridiculous bootcamp apps, this one was hackernews front-page worthy. Very impressive work.
