React Compiler (react.dev)

Somebody really likes saying Rules of React.

They are re-inventing RoR.

It rolls off of your tongue nicely

This is a great thing for the web. Like it or not react seems like it is here to stay as the primary web framework for the foreseeable future. There are so many react websites out there that are not well optimized, this is basically like a magic wand that will speed up a huge amount of existing websites/apps without major code changes.

The ROI of this compiler when you consider applying it to the whole ecosystem is mind blowing. Great job react team.

TLDR; We are solving a problem with another tool, and in six months we'll add another tool to solve problems from this tool.

I really hate having to run my front end code through a compiler.

It didn’t used to be that way.

It doesn't have to be that way now.

I stick to buildless libraries and frameworks. You can even build an SPA without one (mithriljs[1], as I used in a browser extension).
