If someone told me they wrote a C library that took a string of C code that could be compiled and linked back into the program, I would suggest there might be a better solution. Einsum does not seem to be respecting the Zen of Python.



Einsum's instructions are hardly "a string of C Code". It's dense mathematical notation, which has been around for quite some time, hence the name.


They are a string however. Remember when Windows was called 'A thing on a thing?' That's what this reminds me of.
