JQuery UI I’d in maintenance mode : only bug fixes and security fixes are addressed, there are multiple CVEs addressed to its date picker in this release. For those that have to be concerned about such things :

Literally all I still (partially) use from the jQuery ecosystem, because none of the competing drag libraries had the exact functionality I needed for a project.

What does Jquery UI and how is it different than regular Jquery?

JQuery UI is a widgets library like datepicker, autocomplete input and progress bar but also has UI controls to make things draggable and such.
