Try the Caprover on digital ocean to try things out.

This will save you ton of time, there is a lot of application already packaged with docker there and you can add your own. What is great about this is that nginx proxing and other bits are already working together to give a working system. The port mapping, the domain/subdomain managing, https with certificate, etc. Application are installed in one click and are configured mostly with env vars.

Then dig into it with docker or install one ubuntu system and install stuff and see how to configure, etc.




Caprover sounds good. I think I'll try it on vultr like the other commentor said, thanks!
