I don't want to go into excessive detail, but I've had an equinix account for several years. At some point I took a new position which took my attention away from the fact I owed them about $7.50. Understandably, they disabled my account. I paid it (late).
But oh my God... getting my account re-enabled ... I felt treated like a criminal. The whole thing as I told them was "creepy, strange". The whole process dragged on for a few weeks.
Then I heard this story about 2 months ago and figured they were hard vetting. Of course they never mentioned why I was getting the 3rd degree.
