Elon Musk is arguing with his own Community Notes on X (mashable.com)

For almost all the controversial content I have seen on X, the community notes do work pretty well to fact check. It’s not perfect, but the best solution we have seen from a major social media site.

He said it wouldn't "let" him, not that it's entirely impossible. Since the listed workarounds have to trick the installer into thinking you don't have internet or already have an account, and you have to go through numerous dark patterns, his description is essentially correct.

It's like saying prisoners were allowed to leave Alcatraz, so long as they weren't spotted by the guards, and correctly memorized the pattern of flames and gears to roll through the narrow passage under an engine leading outside without dying.

> > "Just bought a new PC laptop and it won’t let me use it unless I create a Microsoft account, which also means giving their AI access to my computer!" wrote Musk. "This is messed up. There used to be an option to skip signing into or creating a Microsoft account."

Oh this is about the MS Account on Windows. Yes it's possible but the implementation should be outlawed.

It's good to hear about the Community Notes mechanism though.

Can I purchase (new) and use and charge a Tesla (at a Supercharger) without a Tesla account?

Are we discussing whether Musk is a good person, or whether what he said is true?

I was told Musk is a fascist that bans people from Twitter for criticising him. Now you’re telling me he gets fact-checked by Community Notes? /s

I never told you that he's a fascist.
