Sounds more enjoyable than what Burger King did in Thailand: Burger containing only 20 slices of cheese.

$3 million to The Rolling Stones for use of their song "Start Me Up" during the release of Windows 95.

It was notably the first time a Stones track was used commercially, which likely contributed to the high sum paid.

And I believe that there was a clever legal game played. At first, the band tried to get MS to use a live version because it would cut some band members out of the royalties. You can read more in Brad Chase's memoirs.

That's a jingle they wrote for a job for Rice Krispies, that's a little different than licensing out a song that already exists in your catalogue.

You were so quick to correct someone that you didn't stop to assess if you were actually correct to correct them.

Curious.

This is the parody version I remember: https://youtu.be/DOwQKWiRJAA?si=BJR2zY6oO57Do2o4

From 2013 until at least 2019, Steak & Shake restaurants had a "7x7" burger on the menu - 7 meat patties, 7 layers of cheese, $7.77.

Not a good value for money, even if you didn't mind S&S's "limited-budget-quality" food.

During my college years, I shocklingly managed to consume two of those (on separate occasions), mainly in an attempt to show off. Easily the worst I've ever felt after eating anything.

Symbolically, though, maybe it helped me get closer to god. Or at the very least, Windows 7.

> Not a good value for money,

How? Thats like 2k Calories for less than $10

Now that I'm trying to cut down on carbs (which I view as the root of most diet-related health problems) I agree with you, "real" food like veggies, meat, dairy, etc., are always sparingly doled out by restaurants while they try to stuff you full of bread, potatoes, rice, and all the other cheap filler carbs. It is actually very difficult to cut down on carbs in restaurants and still get enough calories, without ordering multiple entrees and discarding the empty calories.

I see the 7 patty & cheese burgers and wish they still did those. You're getting a lot more real food for your money.

> I ...wish they still did those.

I haven't been to a S&S since the COVID lock-downs started, but I'd give odds that they do still do those. At some locations, off the record, and depending on the manager.

I'm comparing it to other things in their menu, back in the teens.

Where/when I grew up, S&S was the special treat fast food we got if we'd been good and Dad has some extra spending cash. I still crave their fries.

Cue the UAC asking if it's ok to add fries to the order

Reminds me of the Noah's Ark burger, consisting of two of every type of patty Burger King has to offer.

Japan gets all the cool stuff.
