Ah, the days when signals changed slowly, gently enough to wire them up by hand.

We’ve gained a lot in the intervening ~30 years but lost a little bit too.


20gbps passive USB-c cables were often wired by hand. Machines with the required dexterity to line up the connector used to be too expensive and AFAIK some cables are still made by hand today


Assembled by hand, sure. But that's different from a bunch of wires on a breadboard.
