I always find it hilarious the whole antisemitism thing when a lot of jews in israel aren’t semite (eastern European) while Palestinians are actually semites.. it’s always been weaponized.

As for Eastern European Jews not being semites - are you certain about that? Hitler certainly thought they were semites and to this day Jews are not "White" in the eyes of white supremacists. If you're talking genetics, Eastern European Jews have a certain genetic connection to Arabic Jews and to Palestinians, so calling them semites is not far fetched.
Ethiopians are the second largest Semitic group after Arabs.
The origin of modern antisemitism starts with Wilheim Marr [0] and his essay "Der Weg zum Siege des Germanenthums uber das Judenthum" [1] (1879) - in English "The Victory of Judaism over Germanism" [2]
He went on to form "The League of Antisemites" and it was this movement that brought "anti-semite" into the political lexicon.
