For a second I thought there was a new album that had flown under my radar, and I wondered why a review of it had been shared on HN.

lmao i did the same thing

If you scroll all the way down, you can see at least a similar look of “the band” :)

lol nice. kinda want to work for them now, weirdly.

This project is really exciting. It's founded by 2 ex Qt guys and I think they made the right decision of focusing on the UI aspect only, instead of aiming to be a full on framework like Qt.

Slint is very much the real deal and I truly hope it sticks for a loooong time!

Couldn’t see anything about accessibility, and last time I tried slint (18 months ago), there was no accessibility support I could make work.

Any progress?

https://slint.dev/blog/slint-1.1-released mentions that there is AccessKit integration.

I'm surprised they were able to take a well-known band name that's a made up word and name their project after it

It's not a made-up word in my language.

It is in the language of the band they took the name from and replicated the team/band photo from, though. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/slint-spid...

They didn't take it from the band. Pretty sure the team photo was created as a response to everyone referencing the band.

Oh that's interesting, would you be able to name your project The Beatles and make an Abbey Road team photo, or maybe Radiohead is a better example as it's not a real word, if you had a similar acronym ahead of time? Or is it just that Slint doesnt have the legal team of the Beatles? Genuinely curious how it works.
