Omg, booooooooo!

The entire selling point of insomnia for me was that they let me bypass the annoying bullshit that infected Postman. Not sure what they have to compete on outside that niche, tbh.

On to the next one, I suppose. I'm not sure why these glorified curl wrappers think I'm going to have enough loyalty to tolerate friction. How are you going to lock me in when the what your app does is just make HTTP requests?(Yes, I'm aware they add a ton of convenience over something like curl, I'm being hyperbolic, but still!)

May I suggest hurl[1]

1) http://hurl.dev

That looks right up my alley, thanks for the pointer. Will have to check it out!

Switched to https://www.usebruno.com/ weeks ago. Real OSS HTTP Client :)

I commented with this on the issue and it was removed due to “spam” ironically

Not affiliated but would highly recommend https://httpie.io/app if you’re looking for an alternative

While I didn't lose my data, it was an annoying roadblock. Still, not a bad trade off for me at this point. If they keep tightening the screws I may seek out an alternative.

A previous post linked to a privacy-focused fork of Insomnia known as Insomnium here: https://github.com/ArchGPT/insomnium

I'm using NativeRest. It's working in offline mode, you can use only local workspaces (scratchpad). And it also uses less than 10 MB of RAM.

Kong... Kong... Didn't this one Firebase clone use Kong API gateway? Supabase, yeah that one.

This is all untrustworthy.

Reading this issue, I hope they go broke.
