Crawford, you magnificent bastard. This article seems to explain a half-dozen features of my company’s phone system that never made sense to me before. I assumed that everything but the extensions would have been swept away in last decade’s conversion to VoIP. But I see now they’re all almost all still vestigial remains of offices and phone systems from decades gone by.
