From what I gather, FOSS developer for GPU drivers discovers Starfield code is of poor quality and highly inefficient. So this person writes and submits a “special game perf workaround” for their inefficient use of D3D APIs.
Honestly, this is out of my domain but I can safely say this is a problem for anybody that develops any library, api, or public service. This particular comment on the PR hits hard:
