I have looked on non-comentary playtrough for an hour. I have not expected much, but oh god it was painful to watch. Its just another hyped up game that we seen hundreds time before, that brings absolutely nothing new to the table.

The worst offender until I stopped watching was first fight scene: a group of miners is hit by surprise attack of an incoming spaceship. What game mechanics you think a game developers could employ here? Well of course the ship lands peacefully in the middle of it all, drops around 10 NPC shooting from behind cover (some even armed with just a hatchet!), and leaves before the action is over. What an ambush, 10/10. The fact how GUI flickers in the background for "+5 XP" and out after few seconds basically in the middle of the screen is just disgraceful. Oh and for a ship kill you get +15, makes sense. Oh and fighting in space is obviously another point and click with managing bars of energy into shields/weapons etc. And tutorial tells you ballistic for armor and energy for shield, yet even in the first fight (before any modofication of your ship is possible [which I pressume becomes later on]) its faster to shoot energy at both shield and armor because it just outdps the ballistic gun. And ofc the guys on ground treat you as a newguy-rookie on job, but you did so good in all your tests you will soon be running this, king, and this is an airlock so put on your helmet.

Oh god I expected nothing and got dissapointed so much still. The only thing worthy of talking about is the setting itself, massive space, and thats it. The game is a blockbuster as any other.

If I were 13 I might get excited for this, but how can anyone with at least few years gaming get excited about any of this is beyond me. And ofcourse all youtubers are treating it as the best game of century, which it will be for a month, and fade into oblivion deeper than cyberpunk.

all watching a few hours of Starfield gameplay made me do was take it off my wishlist, and buy Outer Wilds, Star Citizen, No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous for the same price.
