Very cool project. But the UX is terrible. The text shows up when you click the market and later hover over it (?). Parts of the text box might not fit in the map and it's very hard to read.

This dive into the details was really interesting to me:

I wonder how much violence was due to diabetes, as its been documented since 600 years before christ? Alcohol being the main sources, sugar cane consumption didnt appear until the 1700's.

Likewise although fewer in number, the female threshold for murder seems to be lower, but it would have been nice to have known what the male thresholds were, ie what the disputes were about.

This could also show that females have other creative ways at getting back at people they feel aggrieved by, which might not be detected by law enforcers and thus remains under the radar and creates a vacuum of pertinent laws, with the only warning being "hell has no fury than a woman scorned".

And being part of an organisation like a guild or religion also seems to increase the chances of becoming a murderer!

Any plans to mark these locations in real life somehow? Would be great for a London Medieval Murder tour.

Is there a modern version too?

The equivalent for current crimes: https://crimerate.co.uk/crime-map

This one does require an account: https://www.police.uk/ You have to select an area and then select crime map.

Cool map bit finicky on mobile

Use Opera Browser and switch to desktop mode, works great on iOS (iPhone 13 pro).

Mostly use Safari, but started using Opera every time I need real desktop mode.

tag the guys in r/OSINT for a challenge, must be a few open cases lol

I don't get it. Is it talking about bestiality or sodomy but is the woman the prisoner or someone else is prisoner?

Any help?

The married woman enjoyed having sex with a dog so she invited others to come watch.

My interpretation is that she was caught in the act by her neighbours. Or maybe it never happened and they just wanted her gone/imprisoned, who can say?

But the "evidence" in court is that the dog ran straight up to her, sealing her fate sadly.

So... She was the prisoner?

Yes
