Next-Gen EV Batteries Require Constant Connectivity (electronicdesign.com)

This isn't about network connectivity. It's about cells connecting to the BMS. I don't know if the title is clickbait or if I was just unfamiliar with the automotive jargon.

> Volfinity delivers a reliable interface solution that connects cells to the control board in an electric vehicle battery module, eliminating the need for daisy chained wires.

You are right, the title could have been better.

Normally, "batteries" are just "innert" supply of energy and require no additional monitoring. The article talks about how with EVs the batteries need to be connected all the time to watch for temperature, voltage, current, charging, and way more than before.

There is crazy amount of engineering that has to be still improved around battery management.

My understanding, could be wrong.

I would think, duh, of course cells have to be constantly connected, why would they ever be disconnected? The article doesn't really explain the headline.
