This seems like a stretch. Isn’t Zuckerberg a MMA enthusiast who trains and competes in a responsible fashion?

Musk would get destroyed and it seems like he knows as much.

I took it as a big joke.

Musk is about 51, 5 inches taller and 45 pounds heavier than Zuckerberg who is about 40. They've both fiddled about with similar fighting styles, although apparently Musk practiced in his youth and also later in life whereas Zuckerberg has only done it of late.

All factors (size, reach, training) would indicate to Musk would defeat Zuckerberg. The fight usually goes to the bigger guy but these things are, in the end, a matter of chance.

I don't think it's a good idea b/c Musk is a truly valuable asset to the USA and a good person and he could be physically harmed by Zuckerberg who IMO is not yet properly socialized (give him another 30 years) and insignificant to anyone other than his firm's stockholders.

Winning a match would not improve Zuckerberg's reputation and could damage it irretrievably. Musk winning a match would boost his reputation only a bit, and would be only worth a good laugh, which he's got already by issuing the challenge.

One of the weirdest sentences I've read on HN in a while

Have you seen Musk swimsuit photos? There is no way he's 200 pounds. It's much more and it's not from muscle. He'd have to hardcore diet and train to get back somewhat in shape.

The fight will never happen. Their Board of Directors will never allow it. But they both have enough power that they can still do whatever they want, you say. Imagine what would happen to their companies' stock if there's even a possibility of one of them getting hurt. The stock price will tank for both FB and Tesla. That alone makes the fight a none starter. They will need to find a better way to soothe their egos.

It would still be interesting. I wonder if they can play Fortnite, or something like it? People would love it.

Just like when they stopped him from dumping a bunch of stock to buy Twitter? This entire thing is cringe inducing and even more WWE-ification of everything.

So much anger. Not worth reading. More or less just a hatful ramble by some author that despises the protagonists and enjoying mis-characterizing them.

The absolute state of The Atlantic.

This is a skincrawling writing style and contains no sense of perspective (celebrity combat sport events aren't even a novel idea anymore). Either the editors at The Atlantic are idiots, or have decided their magazine is for idiots. And I guess they're right because I clicked on this.

Honestly I think being a billionaire might have something more to do with it.
