Some silly takes, like the one about the bathroom, but overall this pretty much describes me during some periods of my work life - and I think the advice here is pretty good.
I also believe a lot of it has to do with the profession - there is a million ways to do something, it can be hard to evaluate if something is good enough or not, and there is usually no blueprint.
When you build a house, you can see the progress being made, and you also have a clear path on what steps need to be done. In software / research it's very different - you can spend hours or days working hard on something that's not moving the project forward in a meaningful way.
