Uncool and nowhere to scroll: The internet has become hostile for millennials (independent.co.uk)

Ok, so it's not just me. At least we have HN. My doom scroll is now artifact. Though I've never engaged in the comments. Tho identical IMHO, It replaced apple news for me which I got made fun of for sharing a link from...

The impermanence, velocity and arbitrariness of it all is what gets me the most. Nobody (except maybe the silo owners) has any idea what's going on.

Shit's produced and instantly forgotten. And holding your mind into the firehose with its myriad disjointed facettes feels really stressful. Semi-regularly checking HN is already all I can take.

Then there's a bit of the (millenial) old guard that survived ~20 years (e.g. retro game communities) to this day, and without that or something similar... not sure I would treat the internet as a cultural space whatsoever anymore. Too much brain melt.

Seems like this is more about millennials getting old than it is about the internet changing. Especially since it embodies millennial's FOMO + fragile sense of self.
