On The Verge podcast this week, Nilay made this point several times re: "deep fakes", AI Drake's music, MidJourney. The technology is just not that difficult to work with, and it is already sufficiently "public". What are they going to do? Make it illegal to run unsigned binaries and put the government and a few large businesses in control of the keys?
