I think #15 - attacking a bug directly instead of going about it with patches (although possibly there could be a fine line between "direct' and using patches) can be especially relevant for anyone (even outside of games).

The CRC one, #16, was cute.




I read that and was surprised that the solution wasn't changing it to use MD5 or some other hash, rather than a CRC.

I guess they didn't have time?

It says in the original post that the reason they didn't change the hashing algorithm was that they didn't have time.
