This is one of the more fucked up and destructive uses of chatgpt Ive seen so far.

Whats going to happen when politicians are no longer able to differentiate real mail and chatgpt generated mail?

It all gets thrown out.

Ai generated content is a poison pill

Lol you think the read it now?

I spoke to reps before building this, this is an improvement. I’m (1) validating it’s from people in district (see the example) and (2) bolding what their opinion is and on what policy

The two points above allowing quick review & counting. Which is really all they do anyway.

Spam today is worse, organizations make copies of letters and send them in from all over the country to various reps. It’s even worse.

Now rather than copying they can generate, edit, then validate. Presumably, the intern reading this might get more specific reasons

Alright fair enough.

Definitely a cool a idea. Props.

Pretty sure it will be read by AI-generated congressbots.

The art collective MSCHF did something similar and slightly more dystopian: https://childrenscrusade.com/

I had this exact idea a couple weeks ago- cool to see that somebody built it!

edit: Website stuck at "please wait"

Which stage? If it's entering the address, there's currently a bug I'm meaning to fix. It needs to be specific for the time being (i.e. a city might work, but you really need a full address).

Beyond that openai sometimes bugs out. I'd just hit enter on the bar again. It does take 3-8 seconds for the time being ...

Shouldn't you be able to edit the letter before you send it?

You can, but frankly don’t need to in most cases
