I was hoping someone posted this, you're not alone. I hate when lines are spaced so far apart, I think it's actually harder to read but maybe that's just because of all the scrolling. Decreasing the line height for headings is good advice (I think most of the article is pretty good), but when I compare the leading between books and websites it's as if the internet is formatted like learning-to-read children's books.

For whatever density you like, it’ll probably look better that density scales sublinearly with font size.
