Why does it take five clicks to delete a Substack account?

It's just taken me five laborious clicks to delete a Substack account. Plus having to enter in my email address twice. This is dark pattern nonsense at its worst.

Clearly you've never tried unsubscribing from the New York Times. I will never resubscribe to them because of how hard that process was.

However, I would hope that I don't accidentally delete an account just clicking around. A confirmation with re-entering your email seems appropriate.

Without more information it's a big shrug to me.
