Researcher ‘Predicts’ Turkey and Syria Earthquake 3 Days Prior (greekreporter.com)

The prediction seems to be based on a model of planetary geometrics / alignments.

Related, I noticed there is a sort of continuum in analysis via technical means, from "boredom" to "mystery", like:

movement > momentum > mean reversion > moving averages > support/resistance > fibonacci levels > historical mega- or meta-periodicities > novel periodic models > coincidence of observable movements > numerological indicators > coincidence of inequitable movements with equitable > karmic models > etc.

Not that one of these is "better" or that the sequence follows any kind of evolution, but rather the emergence of the continuum itself is an interesting phenomenon in a variety of disciplines, from meteorology to earth sciences to equities trading.

It'd be interesting to see a community that really explores this topic in general terms, with discussions forming around specific areas within. I wonder if anything like that already exists?

The community exists. But tends to be full of conspiracy theorists looking for confirmation of a grand unifying theory of solar system cycles and their interplay with earth's magnetic field, volcanos, earthquakes and catastrophism in general.

I find it tangentially fascinating, and do believe its all linked, but the people involved to be largely dishonest actors, which entirely turns me off and prevents me from exploring further.

As an example, I'm currently embroiled in a dispute about whether earth's magnetic field is decreasing at a rate of less than 1% per decade, or whether it has accelerated to 5% weakening per decade.

Should be a pretty simple question and answer based on SWARM data, but, alas, the actors are dishonest and refuse to even acknowledge an honest question like "what is the average of earth's magnetic field as measured in nanoteslas, and how has that changed over time?"

8+ years of Swarm data available, and can't even get past the basic question.

I've come to believe it a religion, where entry is predicated on acknowledgemwnt of earth's magnetism decreasing at an accelerating rate, and dropping to zero within the initiates lifetime.

Facts about this not happening must be viciously put down.
