Note that this is not the actual foreword to Tom Holland's Dominion; rather it is an essay that Taleb feels could serve as a foreword to the book. No deception is intended by Taleb, but I just wanted to make that clear.
Taleb is a brilliant polymath. I am not worthy to untie his intellectual sandals. But I will say this: Any garden variety American Evangelical Christian will struggle to make sense of this essay. I am a seminary graduate and for me it just raises many questions. For an Evangelical the statement, "Literal 'belief' is not something that concerns us [Eastern Orthodox Christians] too much" is disconcerting if not an actual stumbling block. I say this not to condemn but as a gentle heads-up to my fellow Evangelicals.
