There's a whole website dedicated to it, and yet I fail to find any explanation of what the hell Eliza is on that whole website.

Sharing basic background information should be mandatory for niche topics on HN.




It is a chatbot built in the 60's (!) that can respond based on simple rules (in the "scripts" the article is talking about).
