Looks like they just slapped 5$ pricing on the previous free tier, which also gave 1000 dyno hours with 30 minutes inactivity sleep.

Iām going to miss Heroku free tiers. Using them while following the Rails tutorial is what got me into programming.

The small redis instances sound interesting. The dyno sleep makes them less useful though. Serving anything on the web with cold start is a non starter
