How to Stop Worrying and Love Front End Dev (billprin.com)

Front-end is where a lot of the cool kids are at today IMHO. It's a side of the stack where juniors can bring little to no value, compared to other specialization fields, but also the where I've seen GOOD devs pull real magic out of code. Also, a lot of patterns, algorithms, techniques and paradigms are revolving around modern front-end, while in the past "algo people" would live in the darkness of the backend, leaving FE stuff to juniors and casuals. I myself have followed a -unusual- career path which reflects my realizations on this subject: backend->fullstack->lead/architect->gamedev->frontend. Of course I'll get questioned from time to time, especially during job interviews, because sometimes that would look like the career path of somebody who's failed at upskilling himself in broader roles such lead/architect, but actually, if you interview for the right place, and prove that you're picking front-end out of respect and passion for the craft, and also show that you're perfectly aware and in control of whatever's happening in each and every part of the stack, then I've experienced it's a good signal and sets the foundation for a successful professional outlet.
